Mattias Löw is a documentary filmmaker, and photographer born on September 17, 1970, in Västerhaninge just south of Stockholm, Sweden.

He specializes in creating documentaries and photography focused on social issues. Löw studied cinema arts and history at Stockholm University and screenwriting for film and TV at UCLA.

Mattias Löw began his career in the early 1990s directing music videos and later transitioned to documentaries, earning critical acclaim and multiple international awards for his work, often produced for public broadcasters such as SVT, BBC, ABC and CBC.

Besides filmmaking and photography, he also conducts lectures and workshops on storytelling and ethnographic filmmaking, and has exhibited photography from events like Burning Man globally.
